Advances in Planning Through IPO.Plan and Magna Steyr

The further development of the 4D planning tool IPO.Log was presented at LogiMAT.

The technology pioneer and expert for logistics and production planning IPO.Plan is developing the next generation of the planning tool IPO.Log in close cooperation with Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik. This cooperation and the plans for further development were announced at a press conference at LogiMAT.

Background Information:

The planning of new assembly lines or the integration of new products on existing lines is very complex and non-transparent due to many influencing factors and interrelationships. This production or assembly has been a basis of IPO.Log for years and serves as a basis for the coming expansion. Here IPO.Log has established itself with numerous companies worldwide to ensure the profitability of manufacturing companies and increases their efficiency. The software is used, among others, in the automotive industry, which is why the Austrian automotive supplier Magna Steyr Fahrzeugtechnik also became aware of IPO.Log.

About the Cooperation:

For Magna Steyr it was clear after a broad benchmark of different software that there was no software for logistics planning that meets the requirements of the automotive industry. The positive experience with IPO.Log was the reason for Magna Steyr to get involved in the further development of the software.

For Magna Steyr it was clear after a broad benchmark of different software that there was no software for logistics planning that met the requirements of the automotive industry. The positive experience with IPO.Log was the reason for Magna Steyr to get involved in the future development of the software.

The cooperation with Magna Steyr creates a future-proof and innovative tool that generates a head start for planning. Magna Steyr will thus receive a software solution that enables the integration of standardized factory models and includes logistics planning from the strategic concept to the operative business.

The Further Development:

With the new version of IPO.Log, the company IPO.Plan offers networked planning of logistics together with production: the entire material flow from goods receipt to the finished product can be planned interactively in the software.

The software is characterized by a visually appealing user interface and intuitive operation. It combines the advantages of CAD, virtual reality and automatic simulation. In IPO.Log, a digital twin of production is created, in which real-time interaction takes place. Based on a production program, the planning can be built up retrogradely according to the line-back principle. Based on this, all internal processes are transparently displayed and simulated in dependence. This approach enables exact and realistic planning of processes in logistics and assembly. Route schedules, for example, can be adapted to the current order situation on site in an easily understandable and clear manner in order to achieve cost-optimized supply. Planning of supermarkets, picking zones and warehouses is also in focus. Changes and their effects are immediately visible in the appropriate context. A flexible authorization management system enables consistent planning. With complete interactive planning, full potential can be reached, goals can be achieved faster and results can be implemented with certainty.

For Interested Parties:

IPO.Plan is currently presenting a demonstrator of the new IPO.Log version to the public at LogiMAT. Other interested parties are currently being offered the opportunity to contribute practical ideas to the development of IPO.Log. There is also the possibility to use the software in pilot projects and achieve a head start in planning.
